      @CzarDodon Месяц назад

      @avavictoriasongbird you're missing that this is a translation to be sung, it's different from a literal translation. Try singing «I will win« (the real translation) on a high note, the vowel ee is difficult and not particularly pleasant in the high register, they adapted the text so that the tenor would have an ah vowel. In Italian he has an aye, both vowels are open and much easier to sing in the upper register. So you're right it's not the correct translation but it's done to help the singers throat and our ears.

    Ob die eine oder andere Darstellung verschiedenster phantastischer Sängerinnen in dieser Rolle die überzeugendste Darstellung ist/ sind, bleibt eine rein persönliche Geschmacksempfindung. Bei der vielgerühmten Aufnahme aus 1944 unter Lovro von Matacic stört mich das durchaus beeindruckende, aber geziert wirkende, durchaus gewollte Vibrato. Mich persönlich haben die Aufnahmen einer Ljuba Welitsch aus dem Jahr 1949 unter Fritz Reiner extrem begeistert.

    Esaltanti le scelte del regista e dello scenografo che non tradiscono il libretto spregiudicato e smitizzante del geniale Busenello I due interpreti maggiori, a dir poco, sono interpreti perfetti dell'opera sublime del divin Claudio.

    A primeira vez que eu ouvi o Requiem de Verdi foi em 1985 num LP com gravação de Arturo Toscanini. Até hoje, considero uma das melhores gravações. Me apaixonei tanto que não cansava de ouvir. O disco era emprestado e antes de devolvê-lo fiz uma gravação em duas fitas Basf 90 minutos. Um ano depois, ganhei um ingresso para assistir ao concerto do Requiem de Verdi no Palácio das Artes em Belo Horizonte. A soprano era Celine Imbert. Perfeita!

    @CloneHat asks "Is he an octave down, or even two? The singer here is a Tenor not a Castrato-Soprano, and his natural voice is one octave lower than the original score. At the time the opera was composed, Tenor voices were used mostly for secondary roles. The leading roles were taken by clarion voiced, adult male Castrati; who were either Sopranos or Altos. Today's male Sopranos and Altos are "Falsettists". Because they never use their full voices, (which are really tenor, bass or baritone) they can never achieve the power or brilliance we read about of the finest Castrati. So a choice has to be made between using a relatively weak, lightweight "false" Soprano singing in the original octave, or a more substantial and expressive real Tenor singing one octave lower. Much depends on the quality of the individual singer. Here the stylish Eric Tappy uses his handsome voice to great effect and provides a more than satisfying solution.

    Das - und und nur so etwas - verdient den Namen Kunst. Danke für das Einstellen dieser erhabenen Menschheitsklage, die die Beschränktheit des irdischen Erfassungsspielraumes ausdrückt, die nicht fähig ist, die Grenzen des Verstandes zu überwinden. Das kann nur der unsterbliche Geist. Nur die Materie, der irdische Körper ist aus "Staub" gemacht ist und wird wieder zu "Staub" verfallen, aber die Seele, der Geist ist "kein Kind der Welt", er strebt zurück in seine Heimat, das Paradies. Und - auch Tiere haben eine Seele - sie gehen nicht "nach unten". Aber seit "Corona" wurde vielen klar, wie sehr wir uns an der Natur und dem Lebensraum der Tiere versündigt haben. Allen ein Gesegnetes 2023!

    Entre los tenores dramáticos italianos, Merli es el antecesor de del Monaco, quien también así termina Nessun dorma en su versión completa de Turandot con Inkhe Borg y Renata Tebaldi. He sabido que Nessun dorma no tenía el si bemol Vinceró!, como tampoco el do de pecho Che gelida manina, ni los dos do de pecho de Di quella pira, lo que no tiene mayor importancia, porque los cantantes han modificado notas y pasajes de las partituras que cantan, sin que los compositores se molesten. De esta forman completan estas óperas. Así, el final de Nessun dorma que ahora escuchamos con Corelli, Pavarotti y otros tenores, no lo hizo MIgual Fleta que estrenó el papel, sino que fue Giacomo Lauri-Volpi quien, con su deslumbrante voz, lo agregó tal como quedó sellado para la posteridad. Saludos,
